Sweet Auburn District Field Notes

    These are wall art located on Auburn Ave. The piece of art to the left is a mural of John Lewis, a famous Civil Rights Leader  on the side of a building on the corner of Auburn Avenue and Jesse Hill Jr. Drive. The one in the upper right  is a painting of how black men and women were treated throughout history. And in the lower right is a painting of an African American community. It is symbolizing how black people in the                                                                               1900’s felt and treated Auburn Ave.       Below are two pictures of the most oldest black businesses in Atlanta, that are still open to this day.                   Throughout the 1900’s the Royal Peacock hosted top-notch performers.
