Digital Built Environment Description

When first entering the web page, I immediately was drawn to the words, “Ponce City Market,” and then “Come see,” followed by, “Endless Possibilities.” These words make the market seem to be a positive place just based of the positivity in the diction and the bright attractive colors used. After initially reading those words I saw the menu at the top where I could find more information organized by category. “News” and “Events” being center drew my eyes to them first, which is convenient because of the importance of keeping up with what is going on with the establishment in which the website is dedicated to. The web page is very clean cut with only black, white, blue, and orange color, other than the bottom of the page where a photo gallery resides. These colors are visually pleasing and decreases distraction when reading off of the page. The typography changes throughout the page but keeps a very clean cut theme similar to the color scheme. Mostly block like lettering fills the page with accents of cursive like font. As I scroll down the page I got a preview of what the different tabs in the menu might include. A brief description of the establishment and its history is located in one of many organizational blocks down the page. Next to the description, in a separate block, there is a link to a specific upcoming event.  More blocks are filled with events, videos, and photos. This method of organization makes it easier to differentiate the many sections. The main page is very simple and aside from the description and a...

Built Environment Description of the Atlanta Hawks website

The Atlanta Hawks official website is directly under the National Basketball Association’s webiste, nba.com/hawks . As soon I went on the website, a huge ad for the Hawks’ playoffs popped up. There’s a huge picture of Al Horford holding a basketball, and to the right in huge letters “Atlanta Hawks Playoffs: True Believes It’s time to stay #TruetoAtlanta Playoff tickets are on sale now!” Underneath that it gives the option to either buy tickets or continue to the Hawks’ website. I proceeded to the website to further observe it. At the top of the main page there’s the NBA’s website with tabs next to it. These tabs are ‘Global, Teams, D-League, WNBA, and the NBA Store.’ The top of the page where the links and website is, is the color scheme of the National Basketball Association: red, white and blue. A thin lime green strip separates the NBA’s links from the actual Hawk website. Underneath the strip on left is the Hawks logo, which looks like a an outline of a profile of a hawk in red and white. To the right of the logo, one can see tabs where fans can explore. These tabs include “Teams, Schedule, Tickets, News, Cheerleaders, Hawks Shop, Community, and more.” Each tab has a drop down options with subgroups. To the right of the tabs are small pictures of social media outlets, which lead to the team’s fan pages on each platform. Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook are included. To the absolute right of that is the website’s search bar. The Hawks website seems to have a lot of information regarding the team. Something...

So in conclusion, It would seem that this site is a site that has been visited frequently. search result When you immediately enter the site, the three dominant colors of the whole site are red, white and black. The red color acts as a guideline to lead the users to important links while the white color enables a breathing point for the user’s eyes. The design of the site looks modern and has a simplicity look to it. It makes sense that way, because the site contains a variety of content ranging between pictures, videos and text. When you look deeper to the images and videos of the content, it displays mostly the African American race. The clothing style of most images of the black people represents new money which is basically wearing flamboyant clothing and many gold accessories. example of images displayed on HNHH When navigating the site, it’s required to have a computer with the proper amount of ram and pretty decent processor because of the content the site contains.
